The environment in the streets |
As pictured above, Ghana is truly a beautiful country. The nature is like none other, it has enough history to keep you busy for days, the country is filled with its very own music, and the nation is very peaceful. However, in this astonishing and peaceful wonderland hides a dark truth. The streets are filled with large piles of garbage, and many homes don't have toilets. Many Ghanaian people find other solutions when needing to go to the loo. Many just use a plastic bag, but those often end up in the large piles of garbage, and those who do end up in a septic tank get emptied into the ocean once about every 3 months! This is also the very same ocean they eat, and fish from. Others decide to empty their bowels next to these piles. The people don't think much of it, as it has become their everyday. They need to come together, and make an effort to make their environment better.

Forest Environment |
As stated earlier, the nature is like none other. However, that way change! studies has shown that the rate of deforestation is alarming, and that what was once around fifty million hectares of forest, only about ten percent remain! about one hundred thousand hectares of forest are lost every year, and it will not stop unless people become more aware. |
